Knitting eh? For lads. Aye? Well, my confession is that I've taken up knitting. My wife had taken up knitting a while ago and to be honest, curiosity got the best of me. I'm all for learning, so I jumped in a found out what to do. (To be honest, I don't like the wife being better at things than me, so I jumped in.) I started off on scarves and that but realised that maybe ties was the way to go. I wear a tie almost every day for work and thought that knitted ties would look quite cool. And, not to blow the old trumpet, but they do look pretty cool.
The texture and the different colours make a difference to the old shirt and tie combo. Also, a lot more lads are wearing ties to go "out" nowadays, and the square-ended knitted ties are what seems to be on the go. (Supposed bird magnet, the ol' unique tie.)
